Finding Peace In God Through His Word

Learn About Finding Peace In God For Your Life

One of the lesson my Lord is trying to teach me currently is about me finding peace in God.  Those who know me know I tend to worry and stress a lot when I have to wait when there is a problem or challenge in my life.  And this seems to be the norm for my daily life.  I also tend to be fearful of not knowing about things that are outside of my control.  While this may be helpful for my career, it tends to be counter productive when learning to be a servant of God.  It tends to cause me to act outside of God’s will which is usually when things start to fall apart in my life and creates a never ending circle of problems.

So now I am learning to just be at peace in God as I build and grow my relationship with him.  Not an easy task for someone like me but one I am growing into it and finding a peace I have never had in my life.

God clearly wants us to be at peace through him.  It is scattered through out his word.  Perhaps some day if I have enough motivation and time I can hunt down every verse on this topic.  If you are interested, a simple Google search will probably give you many too.  But overall I think there are a couple key points you should know and understand to find this peace with our Lord of Lords…

God Doesn’t Want You Worried Or Afraid

“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.”  ~ John 14:27

As Christians, we have a lot to deal with from the rest of the world.  From our limited perspective, the odds seem insurmountable, and for man they are impossible.  Many hate us and  some even believe they should kill us for our belief and service to God through Jesus.  Death can be a terrifying thing.  Even Peter denied him three times out of fear.  We can’t be at peace if we are living in fear and worry.  But as children of God, we have a greater promise in his word.  God grants us “HIS” peace so that you should have no worries nor live in fear.  Remember we have the promise of eternal life through Jesus, so what should we fear during our very brief time hear.

Isaiah 35:4, Joshua 1:9, Psalm 23:4, Psalm 27:1, Romans 8:38-39

Finding Peace in God During Rough Times

God Tells Us Not To Be Anxious Or Stressed

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” ~ Philippians 4:6-7

In our fast pace instant gratification world, stress and anxiety seems to be becoming the common state for almost everyone.  We are all victims from time to time but why?  God’s word tells use to not be anxious and to pray to him and give our concerns over to him through our salvation with Jesus.  In return his promise will provide us with his peace.  So stress no more, and let go of your anxiety, because God has it all covered as long as you give your concerns to him.

Other verses you may want to read on anxiety and stress:
Matthew 6:25-34, Proverbs 3:5-6, Luke 12:24-34, Psalm 55:22, 1st Peter 5:7

God Wants Your Full Attention

The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in You.” ~ Isaiah 26:3

If you want to experience God’s peace then your full attention must be on pursuing God’s will in your life.  Many Christians simply add him in as a part of their existing life without making him the center of their lives and primary focus.  When they don’t experience his peace and blessings they wonder why.  God doesn’t want to be in the passenger seat of your life, he wants to be the driver.  So submit your life to Him through Jesus and keep Our Lord in your heart always.

Other verses you may want to read on submission to God:
Matthew 12:50, John 5:30, Psalm 143:10, 1st John 2:17

God Will Bless You And Grant You His Peace

The LORD bless you, and keep you; The LORD make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance on you, And give you peace.” ~ Numbers 6:24-26

God wants to bless you and bring his peace into your life.  He always has and always will. It has been and all ways been in his plan and word.  The only way to truly find peace and freedom is with the blessing of God and allowing him into your life and making him your guiding light.

Other verses you may want to read on God's Peace:
Colossians 3:15, Psalm 29:11, Psalm 85:8, Isaiah 54:10, Matthew 11:28-30

Finding Peace

Receive Your Blessing Of Peace

Through God’s word, we know God wants to bring his peace and blessings into our hearts and our lives.  All he asks is we submit ourselves to Him and His will.  For God’s wisdom exceeds our own:

Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” ~ 1st Corinthians 1:25

So accept Jesus into your heart and submit yourself to him to receive the peace and blessings in your life that only God can provide you.  Finding peace in God is as simple as putting him first in your heart.
